Measure the hazard without sending people into it

Sensors collect position-linked data without sending personnel into the hazard area. Repeat flights reveal changes for response teams; ground measurement confirms contamination and safe routes.

From detection to an informed response

Repeated measurements verify the affected area's boundaries and provide response teams with current coordinates. Containment-kit delivery, robot deployment and decontamination are separate mission configurations intended to reduce personnel exposure.

A measurement payload matched to the hazard

The aircraft provides mounting, power and data connectivity for a compatible CBRN sensor, radiation probe or spectrometer; measurement remains separate from flight control. Flight profile and sampling follow detector response. Calibration and reference measurements account for distance, shielding, terrain, integration time and local background.

From sensor samples to a map of measured values

Samples linked to time, GNSS, altitude and telemetry form a map of measured values. The selected sensor measures dose rate or a specific substance; results depend on calibration and measurement conditions. Comparing repeated surveys identifies changes and locations for ground verification, rather than automatically certifying contamination or safety.

Spectral analysis and identification of radioactive sources

A compatible spectrometer records the energy spectrum; comparing peaks with a nuclide library helps identify possible radionuclides and distinguish background. The interface combines spectrum, time and map data, flags threshold crossings and retains records for expert interpretation and verification with calibrated ground instruments.

Kromek

GR1

Gamma spectrometer

Catalogue alternative · integration unconfirmed

A semiconductor spectrometer for measuring the energy spectrum of gamma radiation.

Weight
60 g
Detector
CZT · 1 cm³
Energy range
30 keV–3.0 MeV
Energy resolution at 662 keV
< 2.5% FWHM
Dimensions
25 × 25 × 63 mm
Power and data
USB

The detector alone, without an airborne enclosure or position logging. It measures gamma radiation, not chemicals or biological agents. The manual specifies 0–40 °C operation; other conditions require assessment.

Smiths Detection

LCD 4

Personal chemical detector

Catalogue alternative · integration unconfirmed

A portable detector for selected chemical threats and toxic industrial chemicals.

Weight including batteries
0.58 kg
Dimensions
10.6 × 18.0 × 4.65 cm
Method
IMS · non-radioactive source
Battery supply
4 × AA
Operating temperature
−32 to +52 °C

A personal detector, not a confirmed UAV payload. Remote data access and installation require manufacturer approval. Detected substances depend on the library and configuration; this is not universal chemical analysis.

Bertin Technologies

Coriolis Compact

Biological sampling · air sampler

Catalogue alternative · integration unconfirmed

A compact sampler collecting airborne particles for subsequent laboratory analysis.

Weight
1.2 kg
Dimensions
255 × 135 × 130 mm
Air flow
50 L/min
Collected particle size
0.5–10 μm
Instrument battery endurance
Up to 8 h
Sampling principle
Dry cyclonic sampling

The sampler itself neither identifies an agent nor establishes infectivity. Its output is a sample for analysis, not an instant biological contamination map. Instrument battery life is not aircraft endurance.
